Crash shuts down lanes on US 70 in Johnston County

JOHNSTON COUNTY, N.C. (WTVD) -- A serious crash shut down several westbound lanes of US 70 in Johnston County on Thursday.

Chopper 11 was over the scene near Firetower Road, where multiple law enforcement units were responding. It appears at least three vehicles were involved in the crash.

Traffic was being diverted off the highway in the area.

Authorities have not released information about possible injuries or what led up to the crash.
